How To Prevent Disaster At Your Outdoor Wedding

By Gregg Hall Lots of couple these days are deciding on outdoor weddings just to get away from the traditional church wedding. One of the big benefits to outdoor weddings is that they are much less expensive and sometimes cost nothing. These events take some special planning to be sure they go off without a hitch while you are getting hitched. For example, if you are being married in a public place you will most likely have to hold the reception in another location. Weather is also a huge concern, if you live in an area prone to hurricanes like Florida you may want to have a backup plan if you are getting married during hurricane season! Here are some guidelines to keep in mind while planning your big day. The location you choose is the most crucial part on an outdoor wedding and if you are choosing a true outdoor locale like a beach or lake then you need to be sure that you have shelter available in case of rain. Considering that you plan the event months ahead of time there is no way of knowing what the weather will be like on that particular day. So be sure to have your option B ready in case Mother Nature is being uncooperative. You could also opt for a home wedding around a pool; I have attended weddings like this that are very beautiful. If you are holding the event at a beach or park check with the city or county government to see if they require any kind of permit. Sometimes you only have to get written permission but other times you may have to have a specific permit. Some other things you need to know are whether you can decorate and bring your own tables and chairs, if you can serve food, have music, etc. If your reception will be at the same place and you will be serving alcohol you need to find out if it is allowed. Many parks and beaches do not allow alcohol to be consumed on their grounds. This will prevent any unpleasant situations on your special day, so take the time to plan it properly. If you are planning to be married outside you can take advantage of natural beauty which will save you some money on floral arrangements and other decorations. Just be sure that if you are using a public location or one run by local government that you have permission to put up any decorations. Most will allow you to decorate but you have to make sure that you take all of it with you when you leave. Make sure that you let your guests know ahead of time that the event will be held outside so that they can plan accordingly. You dont want people coming thinking they are going to be inside and not be clothed properly or otherwise prepared for the elements. Be prepared for foul weather if you have your mind set on a place like the beach and be sure that everyone in the wedding party has lightweight clothes that will dry easily if you get wet. You should also abort the idea of a fancy long dress with a train because if it rains it will just get wet and muddy. Be prepared and have a fun special day! Buy Meds from Canadian Companies

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Christopher_Luck] Christopher Luck It is an ever increasing fact that many Americans are turning to their northern neighbors in Canada for more affordable prescription medication in the face of skyrocketing costs within their own country. As men and women everywhere become aware of the possibilities that prescription drugs can have in improving their lives, it becomes a struggle for a great many to choose between buying drugs within their own country, and importing them from Canada. The price of prescription meds sold in Canada is drastically less virtually without exception when compared to the United States. Companies selling meds in Canada over Internet pharmacies and the like are making huge profits from international sales, and have cultivated the vastly growing monster that is the prescription drug market. Of course, the counterfeit drug boogeyman is often sent out by interested American parties, making it sound like Canadian drugs are made by a couple of toque wearing, beer swilling, Bob and Doug Mackenzie types, but for the vast majority of cases, this just isnt true. The question becomes, what do you do if youre an American and you suffer from an illness which requires you to be dependent on prescription drugs to function in your normal, productive way, and yet you cant afford the ever increasing rates that are being saddled to nearly all forms of medications. What do you do if you need to pay so much for meds every month that you cant afford to kept the heat on in your apartment, or you cant afford to eat as healthy as you should because your shelling out all your cash in the pharmacy instead of in the grocery store? And what if there was a ray of hope just across the border where you could go to pick up the medications you desperately need at a massively reduced price, so that you could get back to spending your money on the basic necessities of life that dont come in form of pills. This is not a fable, its not a scary bedtime story; its real life, and its a problem that affects a growing number of honest, hardworking Americans as the years pass by and the prices go up and up. And as the years pass by in ones own life, the amount of drugs we have to take rises exponentially, which means that the biggest sufferers from the high cost of prescription drugs is usually senior citizens. Seniors will usually have to take some form of drug each day, depending on how healthy they are, and depending on the amount of money they still have coming in. As a person approaches retirement, the money spent on prescription drugs can start to realize itself as a serious financial burden, meaning that often the only chance for a person of advanced age to continue to get the meds they need is to buy them from Canada. On the other side of the proverbial coin, there is the question of what kind of situation this puts Canada in, as its stock of [http://www.tahomatimes.com/category/health-reviews] prescription medication is whittled away by foreign buyers who have no other place to turn. Will a depleted stock of meds be a cause of concern for the Canadian patient, who wants to be allowed to continue the same tradition of getting prescription meds as he or she has been used to? Buying meds from Canada is a contentious issue in contentious times, and with argumentative parties on both sides of the border, one that will likely continue to be discussed. Christopher M. Bike Accidents – How To You Claim Compensation

By Martin Nolan It is said that the number of cyclists on our roads in the UK has doubled since the year 2000. There are around 4 million people cycling regularly either for recreation, fitness or simply to get to and from work. In London recent studies have suggested that by 2010 the numbers of cyclists in the capital will be 80% above the current level. The congestion charge, road layout improvements and safety features have all helped to increase the volumes of people willing to switch from petrol power to pedal power. With such an increase in volume, there is inevitably an increase in the numbers of cycle related accidents and injuries. If you have been injured on the road whilst riding a pedal bike then you may wish to know how you can pursue a claim. Most accident lawyers will be able to deal with your case ideally you should instruct a firm that specialise in pedal cycle compensation. Most cyclists do not have the benefit of legal expenses insurance (which most car drivers tend to have as part of their motor cover) and so instead they may be forced to simply make enquiries on the internet or use a local solicitors practice to help them with a claim. Most cycle related claims are simple and therefore you do not necessarily need representation from a specialist solicitor. However if you want to ensure that you receive adequate compensation then specialists are the best people to hire. There are certain claims (which we cover in a separate article) that you may be entitled to make that are cycle specific yet most non- specialists wont be aware of. You may miss out on vital damages simply because your solicitor isnt aware of the full entitlement that you have as an injured cyclist. Here are a few tips which should help you make a successful claim: 1. If you are injured seek medical advice from preferably the local hospital or at the very least your GP 2. Try to ensure the Police receive a report of the incident. This could come in handy despite the fact that (unless there is serious injury) they may not be too interested in your situation.. 3. Obtain an estimate for any bike damage 4. If the bike is not repairable please provide copies of the original purchase receipt and / or an estimate of the actual replacement costs. 5. Call a specialist bike accident solicitor. For more on bike accident claims please call The Claims Connection helpline on 0800 0322210. Deal with the specialists right from the word go. Dont take any risks with your claim. Seven Ways to Stand Out in a Sea of Applicants

By Mary Jeanne Vincent Is your rsum getting lost in a flood of rsums? Are you certain you could demonstrate your value to potential employers, if you could just get in front of them? Do you want to dramatically increase your chances of getting a follow-up call from employers? Bait your job-search hook with these seven tips and youll catch a whale of a good job. 1. Write a focused, accomplishment-centered rsum. Make sure that your rsum includes several examples of how you added value in previous positions. Include what you did, the outcome and why that is important. I guarantee you will stand out from the crowd if you target your rsum, highlight key skills, include success stories complete with results, and make it easy on the eyes. 2. Respond to appropriate ads. The owner of a successful job-search website often hears employers complain about job seekers who apply without offering any relevant qualifica-tions. Do yourself and everyone else a favor by responding to those ads that are obvious matches for your skills. If you have the right experience but your rsum doesnt show it, write a new rsum! Are you attempting to break into a new field? Do your homework first so that you can state your qualifications and background in terms that apply to the new job or industry. Remember, its okay to have more than one version of your rsum. There is no such thing as good generic rsum. 3. Take time to write a cover letter that addresses the specific requirements of the position. Use the job posting to identify requirements then match them to your qualifi-cations. Include examples of accomplishments that demonstrate the required skills. 4. Make the subject line compelling when sending your rsum by e-mail. Simply writing rsum in the subject line is boring, boring, boring. How many e-mails in an employers deluge contain rsum in the subject line? Thousands, I suspect. Use your subject line to immediately engage the reader and make him or her want to open your rsum first! If it lives up to the subject line he or she may never move on to the next one. 5. Whenever possible direct your rsum and follow-up call to the person who has the power to hire you. This requires that you do some investigating to find out the name or title of the person who is the hiring manager. Yes, this takes a little more effort but the payoff is worth it. 6. Call to follow up. Most job seekers send out their rsum and never follow up. They expect the employer to call them. Demon-strate that you are a go-getter by picking up the telephone and making that all important connection. First, confirm that your rsum has been received. Then politely inquire about the position and the next steps in the process. Ask when it would be appropriate to check back with them. Treat whomever you speak with on the telephone with respectyou could be talking with the decision-maker. 7. Be prepared to sell yourself over the telephone. Most companies pre-screen applicants by telephone. Dont make the mistake of thinking this isnt a real interview. You need to shine here or you wont make it to the next level. Be prepared. Smile when you answer the telephone. Its show time! Mary Jeanne Vincent is the author of Acing the Interview tip cards featuring answers to the top 20 killer interview questions. Shortbread – from Paupers to Posh Parlors

By Ann Zuccardy Ever wonder who the first person was to invent your favorite food or dessert? At Vermont Shortbread Company, we ponder such matters all the time… so, we did a little research on shortbread to see what age-old secrets the internet might reveal! Shortbread, like many other foods that we now consider delicacies, was believe-it-or-not, once snubbed by royalty because it was made with butter, which was considered a waste by-product of milk. Can you even imagine a time when butter-rich foods weren’t considered sheer decadence? We certainly can’t! Yes, back in the medeival days of knights and noblemen, European dairy farmers would sell most of their milk to the landlords and turn the surplus into cheese and butter, both of which were valued for their long shelf life, and dismissed as a peasant food by the well-to-do who had cash to throw around and apparently gallons of milk to waste freely. At Christmastime, poor families of the Middle Ages found a brilliant use for the tons of “scorned” butter that remained lying around: mix with sugar, oat or wheat flour and other flavorings to create a sweet and rich-tasting cookie that would later become known as shortbread. Of course, we have no way of knowing who was the original chap to make shortbread… but we do know that once the wealthy got a taste for what they were missing, shortbread and other butter-based cookies became a must-have at the Queen Mum’s afternoon tea table! Shortbread isn’t the only recipe that wears the rags-to-riches badge of culinary honor. The truth is, *most* gourmet foods and desserts that are prepared by world-famous chefs and listed on the menus of expensive restaurants and posh patisseries, were likely dreamed up by the common folk. Dandelion greens, an acquired taste but nevertheless popular in fine restaurants, were first eaten in America during the Depression when food was sparse and folks had to survive on whatever they could find in the field. In Mexico, the unforgettable avocado is known as the poor man’s butter! And if you consider any of the wild game delicacies that high-end restaurants serve as specialty items (rabbit, wild boar, venison, quail), you might remember the “uncivilized” who first sampled such foods – hungry men on the brink of survival who had to go out and catch their dinner themselves. So, after our little foray back in epicurean time, it’s clear that shortbread is just one of millions of foods that sprang from a need and blossomed into something amazing thanks to the love, care and creativity of the world’s greatest chefs (many of whom will never get the credit they deserve for their amazing culinary contributions!). And it’s also pretty evident that after several centuries and only slight modification to the recipe, shortbread is as close to perfection as a cookie can get — and a tradition that’s here to stay. Lend Your Name To Your Marketing For Better Results

By Marte Cliff Have you read Claude Hopkins’ book “My Life in Advertising?” It was written nearly a hundred years ago, yet its principles are just as important today as they were then. Life was different – simpler, yet harder in many ways. But people wanted then what we still want now. We want to buy products that live up to their promises. We want to buy services that do the same. And we want some assurance that there is a person in charge in case something goes wrong. Look how frustrated we all feel when we try to deal with some large corporation where no one seems to have any authority to help with problems. And even worse – where no one seems to give a darn. One of his chapters talks about the importance of putting a human face and name on a company. His example was advertising he created for a car manufacturer. In his ad he gave the name and face of the chief engineer – the man responsible for building a good car. In later ads he pictured the entire engineering team. He told of their expertise and their dedication to turning out the finest car on the road. That made me think of the ads I see for local service businesses – ads that have no name beyond that of the company. My first thought is always “I wonder who it is?” Of course, since this is a small community, I want to know if it is someone I know, and if it is someone whose work I know – good or bad. Because I’ve been connected to building construction my entire life, those are the ads that catch my attention: plumbers, electricians, excavators, insulators, etc. And since there are some in the community that I would steer clear of, I would definitely want to know who was behind a name like “Perfection Painting” before I would call. I simply wouldn’t call them unless I knew the name of the person I was calling. Yet, I’ve even seen business cards with only the name of the business. My memory isn’t that good. If I pick that card up again in 6 months I don’t know if it’s someone I want to call or not. I can’t remember the names people choose for their businesses. Claude Hopkins wasn’t talking about small towns and knowing the people personally. He was talking about taking a large company and turning it into an entity with a face and a name behind it. He was talking about making advertising more personal, and allowing prospects to feel they are dealing with someone real rather than a faceless entity with no one in charge – no one accountable. But the principle is the same no matter if its a huge corporation or a small-town hair salon. I have another thought on that subject. If you have a product or service to sell – or even a large company to promote – shouldn’t you have enough pride in what you’re doing to lend your name to the enterprise? If you’re ashamed of it, why should anyone trust you? We don’t see too much personalization any more. But I think that what worked for Claude Hopkins nearly 100 years ago is just as important today. Taking pride in your business and lending your name to the enterprise will add a layer of trust that just doesn’t exist when you hide behind a “company name.” Marte Cliff is a Freelance Copywriter who specializes in making people feel good about buying products or services – or donating to worthy causes. Graduation Theme Party Ideas for Your Graduate

By Gail Leino Receiving a diploma is a coming-of-age ritual that deserves some attention and that is why a Graduation theme party is such a great idea. Whether your special someone has graduated from grade school, high school, or college, they have passed a milestone in life that should never go unnoticed. While hosting a graduation theme party for a younger child is not much different than throwing a birthday party or other random get-together, having a guest list of adults and young adults can be just a bit trickier to plan. For the high school or college graduate there tends to be a guest list that includes everyone from Grandma, Uncle Mo and his wife Jane, to half (or more!) of the graduating class. A wide variety of ages and interests to say the least. One way to handle such a diverse crowd of people is to make sure that your decorations and food are excellent. This provides a common thread for discussion regardless of who is trying to talk to who. You can find a great selection of graduation theme party decorations at your favorite on-line party supplier. They will definitely have more options and better prices than your local discount stores and the quality, as always will be great. Then, plan a menu that will not only feed a small army without requiring you to sell the farm, but will please many different types of eaters. For example, how about a taco/nacho bar with different levels of heat available in salsa. The selections could include fish, ground beef, and chicken meat and then lots of other extras like beans, cheeses (different types please!), lettuce, tomato, onions, olives, jalapenos, sour cream, and guacamole. Nacho cheese melt can be kept warm and ready and a nice variety of tortilla chips will add to the fun of a build-your-own set-up. For activities, play a nice variety of music or even better, consider having a karaoke player set up for any and all (young and old) who may want to give it a shot. One fun activity might be to have some pictures of the favorite and less favorite teachers of your graduate available for a whipped cream pie or water balloon throwing contest. Or, if the crowd is predominantly older, darts. All those years of pent-up frustration at busy work and silly homework assignments. Be sure to put a power point presentation together with some appropriately embarrassing pictures of the guest of honor and the team of amigos that have always been around. This will ensure some good natured ribbing, and a lot of laughs as everyone sees how they have evolved from youngsters entering kindergarten to the big bad graduates they are today. Mrs. Party… Gail Leino takes a common sense approach to planning and organizing events, celebrations and holiday parties with unique ideas for birthday party supplies and fun free educational party games. She explains proper etiquette and living a healthy life while also teaching organizational skills and fun facts.
